HICKOIDS
Corn Demon
“Corn Demon” is a newly re-mastered edition of the Hickoids’ 1985 “We’re In It For The Corn” LP and 1987 “Hard Corn” EP combined on one CD. This bunch of Austin troublemakers blazed a trail around the US from the mid-1980’s until the early 90’s and counted Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore and Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain among their fans. The group won “Best Country Band” honors in the 1986 Austin Chronicle Reader’s Poll, much to the chagrin of more conventional practitioners. Long recognized as the original Texas cow-punk masters, this is the first time the band’s music has been available in digital formats for almost a decade. Psychedelic, glam, country-western and hard-core punk stylings melded into one big beautiful mess.

ERIC HISAW
The Crosses
The Crosses is Eric's fourth release and third full-length. It's comprised of 11 originals and an excellent cover of Taj Mahal's Farther On Down The Road. The original songs are meditations on the people Eric grew up around in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Musically it ranges from the John Prine- like Silence to the exuberant Heat Treatment -era Graham parker pub rocks sounds of Every Sunday to the straight-up Buck Owens revisionism Americana of Take Care Of Yourself. The Crosses is Eric's most complete work to date and delivers on the promise he has long shown. TRACK LISTING: Peggy / Borrow / Take Care Of Yourself / Girl Who Never Smiled / Every Sunday / Here With Me / Run / Silence / Right Now / Wasted My Time / Farther On Down The Road / Back Porch Light

LOCO GRINGOS
Self-titled
Texas has spawned a lot of wild rock bands over the years but few were as crazy and hard-living as Dallas’ legendary Loco Gringos. Though their recorded output was limited to one 7” single and the posthumous 1992 Existential Vacuum LP, the band is still remembered for their unique sound, a wry, sexual, lurching cow-punk with underpinnings of island and latin grooves and over the top stage antics. This new CD marks the first time the band’s music is available in digital formats. The re-mastered LP is augmented by previously unreleased bonus tracks recorded live at Austin’s Cannibal Club.

SNOWBYRD
Self-titled
This foursome alchemize influences ranging the Move, Big Star, Mott the Hoople, Roxy Music and the Clash into the coolest thing to roll out of S.A. since the Sir Douglas Quintet. Great songs draped in a robe of pedal steel driven rock that encapsulates the best music of the past four and a half decades. Distinctly Texan, a punkish, reggae-inflected, well-lubricated twang… songs like "Figs ’n’ Fountains" and the garage dub workout "St. Mary’s Nights" will thrill those looking for a band that everyone hasn’t told them about.

STEVIE TOMBSTONE
7:30 A.M.
"Stevie Tombstone's album, 7:30 A.M., will stop you in your tracks. THIS is the sound of genuine Country music. Each of the 12 songs is a hard dose of reality...all vignettes of the side of life and love that you pray to God you don't end up on. One of the best albums to come ouut of Texas this year!" -Dave Mulholland, Tower Records
